Hi Fellow Crafters;

Happy Hump day is here again, and September is almost over and fall is here, and the grandchildren’s hockey has begun.  Winter will be here in a three months bring Christmas with it.  Before we get there though Thanksgiving and Halloween are around the corner.

For my post today for OCS, I have used this adorable stamp from the “Joys of Seasons” new release from High Hopes Rubber Stamps called, Free Broom Rides.  I stamped part of the broom on some beige mulberry paper to add a papery effect.

Ho Ho Ho!!!

Hi OCS Followers;

I hope you all managed to get through yesterday without too much stress, as a new school year has begun for many.  Apparently, my youngest granddaughter Arwen cried as she wanted to go to school with her brother and sister, and according to her she is a big girl now.  She will be three next month.

For my post today for OCS, I have used another very adorable stamp from the High Hopes new release “Joys of the Seasons” called Happy Mail.  I used the Spectrum Noir paper along with the Spectrum Noir pencils and I really liked how colouring turned out.

Merry Christmas

Hello Fellow Crafters;

Hump day is here again, and another week will soon be over.  This also means that school is approaching in approximately two weeks, which also means that we are approaching the end of the month.

For my last post of this month, I have used a Stampendous stamp called “Classic Santa“.  I used Polar White Flower Soft for the trim on Santa’s hat, and sleeve cuffs as well as on the bear’s hat. The clear Zig of Wink of Stella was used to go over Santa’s bag as well as the black image around the Santa image.

Season of Joy

Hi Fellow Crafters;

This is an up to my post from last week, using some new Dreamweaver Stencils from OCS.  I am finding that there is a learning curve for this new technique.  I did discover some things that one should and shouldn’t do.

Season of Joy

season_6
For the Season of Joy Dreamweaver stencil, I used the Pearlescent Dreamweaver Embossing Paste and didn’t add any other mica powders or glitter. I taped the stencil down on a sheet of Spectrum Noir (100 lb weight) paper using removeable scotch tape.  I also think that maybe I should have used a darker cardstock.

For the Tall Poinsettia, that I used last week, this time I used some Translucent Dreamweaver Embossing Paste, and then added some Glitter Ritz using a mask on some areas so that the glitter wouldn’t go where it shouldn’t go. It might have been easier to mix a bit of glitter in the paste.

Tall Poinsettia

Now for what I discovered that one should do and not do;

  1. Do use removeable scotch tape — the tape has to say removeable, otherwise some paper will come off when you remove it.
  2. Make sure that the stencil is down flat, so that none of the embossing paste will seep through where it shouldn’t
  3. When done, remove the stencil gently, so as not to pull on the paper.  If you leave it on while it dries, it will stick to the paper and when it is removed, the paper will come off with it.
  4. Have a container of with  some soapy water in, so that the stencils can be dropped in and wash.  Once the paste has dried, it is harder to clean the stencils.
  5. I  found that the glitter pastes didn’t work as well.  They seem to be thicker than the embossing pastes, to which some micro powders can be added.

This has been a learning experience, but this is what our creativity is all about.

Make sure you check out Lora’s OCS store for some amazing products and prices.  Also stay tuned for some fun that will start on September 1st.

Until next time, Happy Crafting,

Hugs,

Warmest Holiday Wishes

Hello Fellow Crafters;

As it is hump day, this means that it is Wacky Wednesday.  I tried something new and my cards  didn’t work out way I wanted, so I improvised and will be going back to the drawing board.  I used some new Dreamweaver metal stencils and some glitter paste.  The stencils embossed very well with the Big Shot, but the glitter paste didn’t work out so well, so I used a different media.  I will check out some more youtube videos, figure out what I should have done and post an update next week. After all, our crafting is always a work in progress.

Christmas Blessings

Hi Fellow Crafters;

Even though it is mid summer, and before we know it Christmas will be here.  For my OCS “Creative Inspiration: post today, I have used the Heartfelt Creations Sparkling Poinsettia stamp along with their co-ordinating die and paper.  The Sparkling Poinsettia paper pad, also has verses that can be added to the inside of a card.  To shape the poinsettia I used the Heartfelt Creations Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit which is a wonderful set of tools for shaping paper flowers.  I added some Glossy Accents to to the top of the candle.  Instead of using water with the Zig Clean Color Brush Markers I used the Zig Wink of Luna clear pen which added some glitter.

Special Wishes

Hi Fellow Crafters;

Hope you all are enjoying your summer so far.  I don’t about you, but I do wish that the sunshine stays, it rains overnight and the humidity goes away.

For my last post of the month, I have used the Fuchsia Bouquet from Heartfelt Creations.

fuchsia_bouquet

In the meantime, I have been staying inside with the air conditioning and playing with some new products; the Heidi Swapp Minc Foil Applicator Machine and the new Zig Color Clean Brush Markers.  These markers are watercolour and can be used with or without water.  Lora has the Zig Color Brush Markers Sets up as a Pre-Order here.

To use the Heidi Swapp Foil Applicator is fairly simple.  I cut the Delicate Oval die first using the transfer sheet as this will add the toner.  I then cut a piece of the Holographic Foil and put that over the cut.  This is then put the transfer folder, smoothed out and then put through the machine.

There are still a couple of days to enter this month’s challenge. Also check out the amazing Pre-Orders that Lora has up on the OCS store; as well all the other amazing products that she has.

Until next time keep cool and enjoy the long weekend that is coming up.

Hugs,
