For today’s post for One Crazy Stamper I have a tutorial using the Doodey Luxury Stitching Card Layers and the following Sissix Thinlit Dies Flowering Quince, Mini Daisy, Mini Lily and Garden Leaves which are part of the Susan’s Garden Collection.
Grab yourself a cup of coffee or tea and get comfy, as this tutorial will take a little bit of time. The picture below are the finished cards. Going from left to right the Dies are the Mini Daisy, Flowering Quince and Mini Lily.
I started by stitching the Luxury Cardlayers first.
Going from left to right they are: Small Argyle, Flower Circle 1 and the Big Small Argyle.
Sulky thread was used for the stitching and these are the stitches that were used:
Golden Rod (1024) was used on all three card layers, while Pink (1121) was used on the Small Argyle, Tangerine (1078) was used on the Big Small Argyle and Lemon Yellow (1067) was used on the Flower Circle 1.
Here are the finished card layers:
Now we really come to the fun part and that is creating the flowers using the Susan`s Garden selection of dies from Sissix. These are designed by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. From left to right they are the Flowering Quince, Mini Daisy and Mini Lily. Below these are the Garden Leaves.
These are the tools that are used to create these flowers.
Flower making tool kit includes: Leaf Tool 1mm/2mm, Stylus 5mm/8mm, Loop Tool 3mm/5mm, pair of fine-tip scissors with a protective cap, fine-point reverse
Flower Making Pads: Molding pad, leaf pad and non-stick sheet. These are also included in the above kit and can also be purchased separately
Susan`s Garden Flower Colouring Kit
Mini Daisy.
This die set includes multiple daisy petals, leafs and the calyx, which forms the base of the flower.
1. I cut the petals using white Mulberry Paper and green cardstock for the leafs and calyx.
2. I then applied some Diarylide Yellow (panpastels) colour toward the stem end of the petals. Each petal was then shaped using the loop tool, and pinched.
3. The calyx was formed into a cup using a stylus. Then each end of the petals was dipped lightly into glue and adhered to an arm of the calyx.
4. A small dot of colour was applied to the center using a Yellow Viva Decor Pearl Pen, and then sprinkled some Spring Flower Soft instead of Woodland Scenics Pollen.
5. The leafs were stemmed, veined and bent using the Leaf Tool and the leaf pad. They were then tucked under the flower and adhered.
This is the finished flower, which was then adhered to the Flower Circle 1 card layer.

Flowering Quince
This die set includes multiple petals, stamen and calyx.
1. The petals, and stamen were cut using Mulberry paper while green cardstock was used to cut the calyx.
2. Permanent Red Tint (panpastel) was used to colour the petals while a yellow copic marker was used to colour the stamen.
3. Each petal was shaped, pinched and bent to add dimension.
4. The calyx was formed into a cup, and each stem end of the petals was dipped into glue and set in place — one on each arm of the calyx.
5. The stamen was rolled and a small amount of glue was applied to one to secure. Fan the stamen and dip lightly into glue and then sprinkle some Spring Flower Soft.
6. A bit of glue was used to adhere the flowers to a branch of paper-covered wire.
7. I cut some leaves using green cardstock from the Garden Leaves die set.

Mini Lily
Leaves, petals, calyx and stamen are included in the die set.
1. The leaves and calyx were cut from green cardstock, while the petals and stamen were cut from Mulberry Paper.
2. The petals were coloured with Orange and Red Iron Oxide (panpastels), while the stamen was coloured with YR18 – Sanguine copic marker.
3. The petals were then shaped, lined, pinched and bent to give dimension, while the calyx was formed into a cup.
4. Each stem end of the petals were dipped in glue and adhered to the calyx, evenly spacing three petals.
5. Three other petals were placed slightly closer to the center between each of the first three petals. Flower was allowed to dry.
6. The stamen was rolled and a small dab of glue was placed on the end to seal.
7. A small amount of glue was applied to the fanned ends of the stamen with a toothpick and some Spring Flower Soft was added. The base of the stamen was dipped into glue and adhered to the center of the flower.
8. The leaves were lined with the the leaf tool by dragging two or three lines lengthwise down the leaf. They were shaped slightly, then pinched and bent. The leaves were tucked around the flower to finish.
9. The flower was then attached to the Big Small Argyle card layer.
This is the finished card.
Other miscellaneous supplies used for the cards are Rhinestones, Cream Viva Decor Pearl Pen and the design paper is In the Garden from Whimsy Stamps.
