Merry Christmas

Welcome OCS and HH Fans;

I really like it when a stamp can be used in more than one way.  For today’s post, I have not just one card, but two using the Three Pane Christmas  stamp from High Hopes Stamps.  Polar White Flower Soft was added to Santa’s hat.

The first card is a CAS layout.  After the image was stamped, I coloured it with Copic Markers.

The second card, is a completely different layout. I ran the Holiday Magic Embossing Folder through my die cutting machine before adding silver foil using the GoPress Machine.  It was cut at an angle and a piece was added to the top and bottom.  The bottom half doesn’t show up well in the photo.

Supplies used:

  • Stamps:  Three Pane Christmas, Merry Christmas (High Hopes Stamps)
  • Ink:  Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper:  XPress It Blending Cardstock, DP – A Perfect Christmas (Echo Park); Christmas Time (Carta Bella)

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas!

Welcome OCS and HH Fans;

As we are halfway through the year, now is the time to get a start on Christmas cards.  The Design Teams Divas on the High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper Blogs will be sharing “Christmas in July” inspiration to you all month!

For my first Christmas card, I used this cute stamp called Here Comes Santa from High Hopes Stamps.  It is a CAS card as the design paper was a perfect match for it.  The paper is from  Echo Park’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas which was released last year, which I thought matched perfectly.  It is also my favourite Christmas poem.

I coloured the image with  copic markers and used some Prismacolor pencils to add some shading.

The image was fuzzy cut and three light bulbs were added as embellishments.  Nuvo’s Snow Glow Sparkle Dust was used to add some glitter to Santa.  The Sparkle & Cheer sentiment was added to the inside of the card.

Taking the Scenic Route

Welcome OCS and HHFans;

On my to do list whenever I retire, is a train ride through the Rockies.  Besides being a soothing ride, I know it is very scenic and that the Rocky Mountaineer has these trips on a regular basis.

With this in mind, today’s card is using the Little Engine from High Hopes Stamps, latest release called “Modes of Transportation“.

After stamping my image, I coloured it with Copic Markers and then fuzzy cut it and mounted it using a mini action wobble.  For the design paper, I used the section that showed Canada.  The strip was cut using a Double Stitched Hill die.

Find Joy in the Journey…

Welcome OCS Fans;

Now that summer is here, school is out and it is time to go on an excursion and find joy in the journey.

For today’s card I have used Ron’s Royce from High Hopes Stamps latest release called “Modes of Transportation“.

Instead of using design paper, I created my own using the GoPress and Foil machine along with a Hot Foil Stamp, an embossing folder and heat activated foil.

The GoPress and Foil machine is used along with your die cutting machine.  It is the pressure from the die cutting machine that will help add the foil which is heated on the GoPress machine first.  The Introduction to GoPress and Foil youtube video gives a good overview of its many functions.

The small strip on the left hand side is a hot foil stamp.  The bigger piece on the right hand is an embossing folder. I have seen the embossing folder and GoPress machine used in two different ways.  The first way is to run the embossing folder through the die cutting machine first, giving a raised appearance.  The second way, is not to run the embossing folder through the die cutting machine which gives it a flat appearance. The embossing folder with the  raised side down, is put on top of some cardstock, which is then put down on top of the foil which is colour side down, which is put on top of a metal shim on top of the GoPress machine platform.

Hoping Your Day is as Special as you are!

Welcome OCS Fans;

Well it seems that we have had a very short Spring and now are into the first hot weekend, even though it isn’t officially summer yet.

Seeing mother nature at its’ best is one of my favourite things during the spring and summer; especially the colourful hummingbirds. Today’s card can be used as a birthday card or one of those you want to send as “Just Because”.

After colouring the Hummingbird (High Hopes Stamps) using copic markers, I added some Silver Moonlight Nuvo Glitter Drops to the edge of the wing and tail.  I just added it as a thin layer to add a bit of glitter.  On the leaves I added some Morning Dew Nuvo Crystal Drops.  Yes, I am addicted to the Nuvo products — they are so versatile.  I wet the outside edge of the Mulberry Paper with water and did a gentle tear all around to give a bit of a ragged look.

Imagine…

Hi there OCS fans;

Well another week has come and gone, and it is time for my Friday post.  For today’s card I have used one of the adorable stamps from High Hopes StampsA Magical Day” release called Little Wizard.

I am in the process of reorganizing my craft room and now have the embossing folders in a basket sorted by vendor, instead of buried somewhere in a drawer..  I used the Splatter embossing folder from Taylor Expressions and inked it up with the Weathered Wood Distress Ink.
